Tella Balls Dessert Bar opens near Fox Studios, plans third cafe in Concord (Sydney)

And to think this growing empire built on sugar and sweets started when one man decided to put a doughnut on top of a milkshake and send it out via Instagram. Aki Daikos, co-owner of the flagship Tella Balls Dessert Bar in Sydney’s Dulwich Hill, who along with business partner Simon Kappatos, has watched his dessert-focused business rapidly expand since opening earlier this year, greeting hundreds upon hundreds of hungry gluttons into a world of spherical doughnuts and chocolate kebabs all powered by the sugary fuel the world knows as Nutella. It has become so popular that Daikos and Kappatos are starting to realise their franchising plans for the brand, expanding to include a second store at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, and a planned third store in Concord.

The entertainment precinct, which also houses Fox Studios, Hordern Pavilion, and Max Watts, is constantly packed full of people looking for nosh pre- or post- show, so it makes complete sense that Daikos and Kappatos would want to bring this undying crowd a slice of their imaginative, and sometimes over-the-top, dessert experience.

As with the Dulwich Hill cafe, those heading along can expect every single damn course to be chocked full of Nutella and other delicious dessert flavours. This means the cafe will be packed with daily made goodies like Nutella cheesecake, Nutella waffles, Nutella kebabs, Nutella pizza, Nutella ice cream, Nutella cruffins (think about it), tella balls, tella ball milkshakes, Nutella, Nutella, Nutella, Nutella, and probably Nutella. If you want to purify yourself in the gooey chocolate hazelnut waters of lake Nutellonka then this is the place to be.

You may also be delighted to know that recently the brand launched a golden gaytime gelato, although it’s not clear whether this will be available at both stores or just one. So there’s that.

While the Entertainment Quarter cafe is up and running, Daikos and Kappatos have also announced plans for a forthcoming venue in the inner-west suburb of Concord. For updates on that and everything else Tella Ball Dessert Bar related you can follow them on Facebook HERE.
