The Bucket List readies summer menu with poke and frosé (Sydney)

Now in its fifth year, Bondi staple The Bucket List is ready to once again take on the season it was built for, edging into spring with a new menu that’s been put together with those beaming beach-side days in mind. The colourful venue has become well-known as a primary choice for locals and visiting celebrities, a reputation that would have surely died had it not been for the refreshing approach to good quality food and drink in-line with the locale.

Head Chef Tom Walton has once again tasked the kitchen with coming up with seasonal, fresh dishes that take inspiration from the bold flavours of the Mediterranean, drawing from land and sea with a menu to satisfy the multitude of patrons who frequent the area. As such, expect new dishes like the summer-ready Watermelon and Marinated Goats Feta Salad, the on-trend Raw Tuna Poke Bowl, and some Chargrilled Freemantle Octopus. Returning favourites include The Bucket List’s signature Fish Tacos and Classic Fish Burger.

“Inspiration for the new menu always comes from the simple questions – what would I like to eat, having just left the beach?”, said Walton. “Be it a fresh and healthy salad, or seafood, or a burger and beer with mates”. It’s this simplicity that’s scored home runs for Walton in previous years, so it ain’t broke.

As always, the extensive selection of beers, ciders, and wines sit along with a refreshed cocktail list that now includes the growing trend of Frosé, that craze of frozen Rosé that’s loudly sweeping the streets of Sydney and Melbourne and will likely be Australia’s drink of choice for summer 16-17.
