The Craft & Co begins running workshops for food, gin and beer lovers (Melbourne)

The Craft & Co has become the host for a series of masterclasses and workshops for artisan produce. So whether you’re a lover of beer, coffee, cheese, or simply interested in learning new culinary skills, you have up until the end of April to participate.

Widely considered as a ‘temple of artisan craft’ The Craft & Co is a multi-faceted venue that is iconic for its dynamic paddock-to-plate culture. The space currently stands as an eatery, bar, and a retail store with in-house facilities including a beer brewery and meat curing depot.

In the midst of this culinary playground is also the educational aspect. With their annual season of workshops, The Craft & Co have offered the food-curious a taste of the what, why and how behind their finished products. In collaboration with their industry peers, a diverse range of classes are offered to those interested, each of which is $75 per ticket with a couple of free sessions available.

For the food lovers, cheese making, pasta making, as well as the option of sausage or salami making is available. For the true Melburnian, a coffee cupping class is on offer, teaching you the tips and tricks to achieve cafe quality coffee at home, with both an espresso shot and pour over brew.

Amateur bartenders and alcohol enthusiasts are catered for as well, with workshops such as an Introduction to Distilling for those interested in the production methods of distillation, with tastings of local whisky, gin and house-made spirits, as well as and Brewing for Beginners to help you get started with your home brewing interests.

With a more sweeter influence, The Craft & Co also have detailed demonstrations with their class, Bees in the Burbs. Led by expert apiarist, Peter Dyer from Backyard Honey, he offers advice about everything advice about everything bee-keeping, apiary equipment, beeswax and propolis.

Each of these sessions includes the chance to enjoy custom pairing menus and tasting platters relevant to your class. So on top of the reward of learning new culinary skills, you’ll get a flavoursome taste to complete the experience.
