Award-winning bartender Pasan Wijesena of Earl’s Juke Joint fame is about to take a bold step into the universe of pop-culture themed venues with a David Lynch inspired bar right around the corner in a space that was once occupied by Enmore’s Anna Thai. The Enmore Road drinking hole will undoubtedly be all types of weird as the works of Lynch will be spliced into the Tiki styled bar.
As reported by Time Out, Wijesena’s new venture will be helped along by current bar manager of Earl’s Juke Joint, James Fury, and bartender Adrian Sanchez, a team that’s already put together a list of classic old-era tropical cocktails like Mai Tais, Singapore Slings, and Zombies. There’ll even be a black coffee on offer, not with cherry pie unfortunately, but alongside a menu that so far only includes a grilled cheese sandwich.
The 60-seat space will draw most of it’s inspiration and title from one of Twin Peaks’ most memorable characters, Lawrence Jacoby (better known as Dr Jacoby). So expect a lot of Hawaiian-like design, tastes, tunes, and more. It’s already been confirmed that the bar will feature a 70s-style mural of an Hawaiian sunset with banana frond wallpaper.
Time Out is reporting that Jamaican beer Red Stripe may be the only tap beer available, while the focus remains on spirits, Rum in particular and other dark spirits and local gins.
Jacoby will open at 154 Enmore Road in Spring.
