Thousands of Sydneysiders turned out last year for The Hemp Health & Innovation (HHI) Expo & Symposium, which was held at Rosehill Gardens and aimed at providing a diverse showcase of all things hemp. It was a success by any measure, spreading in-depth information and awareness around the benefits of the almighty Hemp plant, and for it’s 2017 return the expo promises to be much bigger, better and more comprehensive with a range of expert local and global speakers. In addition, there will be 80 exhibitors and the largest ratified hemp crop is the Southern Hemisphere. Plus the unique two-day event will even head down to Melbourne by the end of the year.
With cannabis now legal in 28 U.S states (with an additional 16 allowing limited medical use – 8 of which allow legal recreational use) and medical use approved for Australian patients and doctors just a few months ago, the time seems perfect for us to further our discussion on the plant and help this country catch up to the rest of the world. And there’s going to be plenty of ways to do just that.
The expo will feature experiential and educational workshops; displays and performances showcasing a wide range from hemp fabrics, textiles and clothing to art, beauty products, health products, building materials, gardening and more. It will be more than enough to pack both Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May with all things hemp as the public get the opportunity to taste, touch, feel and experience it all in a safe, family friendly environment.
Some of the world’s leading neuroscientists, doctors, vets, academics, research associates and entrepreneurs will be on hand for the symposium alongside celebrities, activists, patients and politicians all coming together for engaging presentations, conversations and Q&A sessions.
The event will take over Rosehill Gardens on the Saturday from 9am to 6pm and the Sunday from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Tickets are priced from $14.50 and are on sale from hhiexpo.com.au. Free entry will be granted to veterans who present their DVA or retired ID card upon entry.

Note that details about the Melbourne event are yet to be released, but we do know that it will be taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in South Wharf over the weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December.
