The world’s 50 best bars for 2016 have been named

London and New York have once again dominated the World’s 50 Best Bars, an annual list which each year seeks to provide a thorough overview of the top performing drinking destinations across the globe, from swanky hotel bars to dim speakeasies.

Manhattan’s popular Dead Rabbit took out top honours, being named the “Botran Rum Best Bar in North America & the World” after coming in at second place for the previous two lists. The “Grocery & Grog” bar has edged out London’s American Bar for dominance, though London remains the biggest presence in the top 10 with an impressive 5 bars (2,3,4,6,10).

Australia’s highest entry is Sydney’s famed The Baxter Inn coming in at number 12, being named the Ketel One Vodka Best Bar in Australasia, accompanied by Melbourne’s Black Pearl at 22 and Sydney’s Bulletin Place at 46.

Singapore’s 28 HongKong Street drops below the city’s Manhattan as the second highest ranked bar in Asia, coming in at number 14 whereas earlier this year the bar topped the list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars. 28 HongKong Street also had a recent pop up in Australia as part of Bar Week.
