We knew it was just a matter of time before we started seeing even more Golden Gaytime inspired food and drink pop up all over the place. A recent release of authentic Golden Gaytime crumbs in a Milo-style tin must have done it, giving people reason to experiment with one of the most iconic Australian ice creams (and let’s face, things in general) of all time. The latest experiment: a Golden Gaytime cocktail.
With World Class Cocktail Week coming up, bars across the country are looking to do up a whole bunch of specials, and Sutherland Shire’s popular tapas and wine bar Rocksalt have opted for the insta-worthy. We’re guessing the flavour is on the point too, because this one makes good use of those aforementioned Golden Gaytime crumbs and a build they are keeping under wraps until people head along to try it.
World Class Cocktail week has over 100 official events planned across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Of course, this doesn’t mean bars like Rocksalt aren’t able to get involved, so be on the lookout at your local favourite to see if they’re celebrating in their own way.
