Premium Scandinavian outdoor and lifestyle brand Fjällräven has officially launched its new Kånken Art collection in Australia, bringing expressive designs to their reliably high-end gear. The art-forward collection is a limited edition offering in collaboration with Swedish artist Moa Hoff, focusing on playful designs and unique patterns to stand out in a crowd.
With domestic travel coming back, it’s perfect timing for those looking to switch up their style across bags, cases and wallets. The bags are used by Hoff to express her love for nature, channelling childhood memories of hikes with her father.
“I remember the light, the crisp colours and small knobbly mountain birches,” describes Hoff, who is a renowned illustrator, artist and graphic designer based out of Stockholm. “It was this memory – the birches – and that feeling that I wanted to connect with when I created this pattern.”
Every piece of gear sold from the Kånken Art will give back to the Arctic Fox initiative, which is Fjällräven’s way of creating engagement and funding around ideas and projects that put nature first. Historically, this has included non-profits such as The Beach Clean Network Limited, Leave No Trace, and Sweden’s Hej Främling.
The Kanken Art Collection is an ongoing series and last year saw collaborations with Swedish Cecilia Heikkilä and Erik Olovsson, who used the bags to higlight spring and summer landscapes inspired by the colours of the Swedish mountains.
Material used across the collection is made from G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco S in recycled polyester and organic cotton, this extends to the likes the Kanken Art Travel Wallet (A$99.95), Kanken Art Laptop 15″ Birch Forest backpack (A$199.95) and Kanken Art Pen Case (A$54.95).
The entire collection can be found here.
Alternatively, Fjällräven also have retail stores in Melbourne (Melbourne Central) and Sydney (York Street).
