Universal Studios’ year round horror experience sets opening date at Las Vegas’ AREA15

Every year, Universal Studios theme parks in the US, Japan and Singapore celebrate the Halloween season with Halloween Horror Nights. Across these nights, guests explore specially themed haunted houses – often around particular Universal IP – and get to stay in the park up late, with additional horror theming across its existing attractions.

With the haunted houses being what keeps people coming back each year, Universal have come up with a novel idea: what if we made this part of the experience 365 days a year? Though they’re not doing that at any existing Universal Studios park yet – rather, building a custom site just for the year round experience.

This week, it was finally announced that Universal’s permanent horror-filled attraction will be opening at Las Vegas’ AREA15 on 14th August 2025. Tickets are already on sale, and they’ve also given us the first tease of what the experience – dubbed Universal Horror Unleashed – is going to be like.

Not unlike Universal’s upcoming third gate in Orlando, Epic Universe, which also opens this year, there will be multiple worlds and IPs to discover within the attraction.

Upon entry, guests will dive into an immersive experience full of nightmarish scenes brought to guests through four fright-filled rooms, each representing different horror stories. These rooms are: Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer.

Admission also includes access to themed bars and live entertainment, as they journey through the scares within the newly constructed 9,290 square metre building.

The horror will also extend into themed food & beverages, with artisanal cocktails, spooky bites as well as a retail location selling unique Horror Unleashed merchandise.

This attraction is part of the AREA15 District, a 40-acre immersive entertainment and events destination in Las Vegas.

Tickets are on sale now. Options include the General Admission Ticket (Unlimited Access), which provides unlimited admission for all four haunted houses for the selected date and time of your choice, starting at $99.00 plus tax. There is also a General Admission Ticket (One-Time Access) starting at $69.00 plus tax, which offers guests entry to each haunted house once for your selected date and time. All prices are in USD.

All ages are welcome, however they don’t recommend the experience for those under the age of 13. Also, AREA15 rules apply here too for Fridays and Saturday nights after 8pm – when it’s 18 years and over only. A valid driver’s license or ID will be needed for entry those nights.

Head to the official Universal Horror Unleashed website for tickets and more details.
