Universal Studios Hollywood reveals first look at new The Walking Dead attraction

AMC’s enormously popular The Walking Dead has seen inspired theme park attractions pop up around the world, but Universal Studios Hollywood are just about to unveil the most ambitious addition yet. Working closely with AMC, the world renowned film studio and theme park will build upon the “Halloween Horror Nights” maze that has been so popular in recent years, progressing onto an immersive 365-day attraction.

The Walking Dead’s creative team, including Greg Nicotero and KNB Efx, have collaborated with Universal Studios to bring this to life, making full use of original moulds and make-up effects to ensure thorough detailing is applied to the attraction’s walkers and authenticity remains a focus. Sophisticated animatronic walkers have been used to provide a substantial move forward in terms of the level of detail this year round attraction will have over the famed horror mazes. The resul is an uncompromised realistic environment that seeks to really bring guests into the universe depicted in the award winning cable show.

This living representation of the show has been a huge effort from all involved, as you’ll be able to see more in the below video which has been revealed by Universal Studios Hollywood to provide a bit of a behind-the-scenes look.

The Walking Dead attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood will be open from Monday, 4th July 2016. More information can be found HERE.
