Young Henrys release a cold frothie to the core range

Our friends at Young Henrys have always been ones to push the barriers when it comes to releasing new beer varieties. This time, just in time for summer, is a core range of Cold XPA. Brewed cold. Drink colder. This joins the existing lineup of NewtownerHazy Pale AleNatural LargerIPAStayer Mid StrengthCloudy Cider & Ginger Beer.

The beer is brewed at a lower temperature, similar to a lager. For the technically minded, it features citrus and tropical aromas, a balanced 15 IBU bitterness, and a sessionable 4% ABV that appeals to the refined palette. Crafted with a unique malt profile, including pale, carapils, and malted oats, harmonised by a careful blend of Topaz, Cascade, and Galaxy hops, the Cold XPA is brewed cold and enjoyed colder.

Head brewer Jessie Searles has this to say:

We wanted to bring in another offering for the upcoming HOT summer that was severely crushable, but that was also massively hop forward. We had been talking about doing this kind of beer style (which is pretty new) for a while now and felt like this was the perfect opportunity.

Available at Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice Liquor stores across NSW, and pouring from taps across the land, Cold XPA is a 4%, sessionable Extra Pale Ale.

We’re in for a hot summer, so what better way to mitigate the effects of the heat with a cold frothie.
