ACMI to host exclusive limited season of political documentary Weiner

World politics is a joke right now considering what we see on television. It’s become a routine to roll our eyes on every Australian Politician and Donald Trump’s idiocy of banning immigrants to the U.S borders. Good news for those who love watching political documentaries as ACMI in Melbourne will be showcasing Weiner to the big screen, running an exclusive limited season from September 1st.

With both Melbourne International Film Festival screenings selling out, Weiner has had critics write rave reviews, making it a clear indication that these screenings will sell out like hotcakes.

Weiner follows the story of Anthony Weiner, a Democratic Congressman who was on the rise until a ‘sexting’ scandal drove a humiliating resignation to the public. Two years later, Weiner eventually ends up running for New York City Mayor, betting his democratic ideas would eventually trump his indiscretions. Weiner has been described as “fascinating political comeback-turned-meltdown.”

Weiner stands tall in this eruptive portrayal of a “d@!% pic” overshadowing the most valiant political efforts,” said ACMI Senior Film Programmer Kristy Matheson. “Bending over backwards to compensate, Weiner is a fascinating study of a political character, and one that will captivate anyone who owns a mobile phone, uses the internet and has ever been drawn in by titillating clickbait.”
