Australia is getting its very own Jim Jarmusch film festival

One of the most essential independent filmmakers alive today, Jarmusch’s work will be celebrated with a festival of his films at  ACMI, with the Mebourne institution unveiling their plans for Jim Jarmusch: Rock N Roll, set to kick off on 27 December.

The program will feature his latest music documentary, Gimme Danger a wild, funny, heartfelt love letter to The Stooges – as well as four of his cult classics that show the director’s affinity with making Rock n Roll front-men his leading men.

Other Jarmusch films to be aired include Dead Man, Coffee & Cigarettes, Mystery Trains and Down By Law.

This season at ACMI will give audiences – both familiar with Jarmusch’s work and those exploring for the first time – a chance to delve into the works of the innovative acclaimed director.
