For the second week running, an Australian drama about a seamstress has relegated a Hollywood blockbuster to number 2 at the box office.
The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet pulled in another impressive AU$3 million last week as it does its best numbers in Australia.
The Martian is still the only real contender at this point having made another AU$1.4 million. It draws ever closer to hitting a worldwide gross of half a billion – it still sits at third spot in the US after 6 weeks in release.
Bridge of Spies and The Last Witch Hunter sit at third and fourth spot (respectively) having made just under AU$1 million.
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse had a fairly average opening in both Australia and The States. It didn’t even break half a million in Oz while two weeks in release in The US have netted it US$3.2 million. Our 1 star review might give you a glimpse as to why it is doing so poorly.
