It seems there’s no roadblocks for The Fate of the Furious, which remains in the top spot at the box office for the second week in a row. This week, it earned $4.96m, down considerably from its opening week last week when it earned $10.07m. This is also due to the overlap of the school holiday period, and the Easter long weekend.
Beauty and the Beast is still at no. 2 on the box office ladder, earning $2.13m, dropping from $3.02m last week. Seems these two films will be vying for top 3 spots for weeks to come, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 anticipated to top the list next week.

The Lego Batman movie moved from no. 4 to no. 5 at the box office, earning $926k this week (down from $1.29m last week). This week’s no. 4 spot has been filled by the newly released comedy Going in Style, starring Hollywood faves Alan Arkin, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, and directed by Zach Braff. This took in $1.26m in its opening week and will probably stay in the top ten in the coming weeks, though word-of-mouth hasn’t been particularly kind to the film.
Other movements within the top 10 films include Smurfs: The Lost Village, which moved from no.5 to no. 6 (this week making $788k). Ghost in the Shell also dropped down the ladder, earning $235k this week to place it in 9th spot, compared to last week when it sat at no. 6 and made $545k.
Their Finest, a comedy set in WWII and starring Gemma Arterton and can-you-ever-take-him-seriously Bill Nighy, earned $571k in its opening week in limited release, and now sits at no. 7.
