Ever wanted to watch a movie from a hot spring? Now in Victoria, you can.

Watching a movie underneath the stars whilst being submerged in a hot spring pool? Where do I sign up?

A movie experience like no other, this February the Peninsula Hot Springs in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula return to host a movie season like no other as every Friday night in February – plus a special Valentine’s Day screening on Sunday the 14th – houses a special filmic experience.

Grab your bathers and indulge in the natural hot springs pools in the unique open-air Bathe In Cinema where you can choose from a selection of classics to enjoy as the sun goes down for your evening of relaxation to begin.

To choose between which film you’d like to assist in your revitalisation, head to the Peninsula Hot Springs Instagram and Facebook pages and cast your vote.  Do you want Heath Ledger’s taming of Julia Stiles in 10 Things I Hate About You or the classic chaos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding? (Friday February 5th); Gwyneth Paltrow’s identity crisis in Sliding Doors or Renee Zellweger’s sheroic Bridget Jones’s Diary? (Friday February 12th); the Australian camp of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert or the croon of The Sapphires? (February 19th); or the throwback appeal of Sixteen Candles or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? (February 26th).  And if you want to spend Valentine’s Day with either Paul Mercurio or Zac Efron, then you’ll have to choose your date between Strictly Ballroom or Are We Officially Dating?.

And if the ideas of hot springs and flicks wasn’t enough, you can enhance your experience with pre-ordered picnic hampers or the kitchen’s selection of grazing platters or pizza for that extra movie snackage.

With cinemas now back in full swing – COVID safe, of course – now feels like even more of the time to enjoy the age old tradition of going to the theatre, only now with added comfort.
