Presumably in an effort to shake things up in the already stagnant DC film stable, reports are surfacing that Zack Stentz (who has credits on Power Rangers and Thor) is working on a script for a Booster Gold movie.
If you know anything about Booster Gold, you know that he doesn’t exactly fit in with the Snyder/Nolan, dark and brooding tone of the current DC films.
The former athlete/security guard travels from the 25th century to current day with his extensive knowledge of the future and technology. Upon his arrival he manipulates events to paint himself as a hero and in the process reaps riches and fame, earning him the ire of his super brethren.
But while the road to Justice League is currently paved with exiting directors and negative reviews, Warner Bros appear to be in repair mode, with re-shoots of Suicide Squad and the addition of the genius mind of Ben Affleck to Justice League: Part One. So maybe fan favourite Booster Gold could restore some faith with audiences.
Greg Berlanti, who currently oversees all things DC related on television (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow) has been rumoured to direct the film or at the very least, produce.
There isn’t a lot to go on yet. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
