While it opened as the MCU’s least successful film to date, Ant-Man is still sticking around in top spot. In just its second week, Marvel’s newest hero has put some distance between itself and its competitors, earning $3.2 million in Australia while also remaining on top in the US with $24 million.
Judd Apatow’s new film Trainwreck sits at number 2 making $1.3 million. The comedy was Apatow’s second most successful opening in the States trailing just behind Knocked Up.
A peculiar entry has found its way into third spot as Andre Rieu: 2015 Maastricht Concert has earned $1.2 million, beating out Magic Mike XXL which sits at number 4 now having made $1.1 million.
The other new opener Self/Less had a mediocre opening, landing at number 7 earning just over half a million.
