Despite an impressive opening by Lets Be Cops – one to the tune of $1.6 million – it just didn’t pack enough of a punch to usurp top spot. Interstellar retains its position at number 1 pulling in another $3.7 million. Christopher Nolan’s spectacle has received tremendous reviews, lauded for its ambitious storytelling and sheer scope. It’s going to take a lot to budge.
David Finchner’s Gone Girl continues to be the success story of the year, the intense drama refusing to move from the top 3.
Aside from Lets Be Cops, the only new release this week to make a dent in the box office is My Old Lady. Raking in almost half a million in its opening week, the British/American comedy stands tall at number 5.

It’s a slow week other wise. New Zealand drama The Dark Horse hit theaters as does David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars.
