Box Office Report: Taken 3 takes it away again

Surprisingly enough, Taken 3 has topped the box office this week with an astounding $5 million. Albeit stating in 2013 that there would be no further sequels as “she can’t get taken again. That’s just bad parenting”, it appears the masses were keen for more of Liam Neeson doing the impossible.

Following behind on $3 million is Walt Disney’s Into The Woods, and following closely behind is the final chapter of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, who still remains very popular after topping last weeks list. Comedy was strong, with Dumb and Dumber To garnering $2.6 million.

Some big Boxing Day releases are still going strong, encompassing films such as Big Hero 6, The Water Diviner, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and Paddington. Critically acclaimed The Imitation Game is also still running strong with $2.6 million after its New Years Day release.
