The Golden Age Cinema and Bar will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this March with the screening of Oscar nominated film Brooklyn and then following through the week with a selection of essential Brooklyn-based films.
Taking us from the love spangled Brooklyn 50’s, we see Woody Allen’s Oscar winning Annie Hall and then Spike Lee’s cultural tour de force Do The Right Thing. The screening will then fittingly close with Dog Day Afternoon.
Adding to the huge week, Golden Age will also be working with Australia’s Big Fashion Sale boutique to premiere Jeremy Scott’s fashion documentary, Jeremy Scott: The people’s designer. A visual recording of the small time origins and ascent of Jeremy Scott to creative director of fashion giant Moschino.
Comedians Kyran Wheatley, Rhys Nicholson, and Ray Badran along with Becky Lucas (writer for Please Like Me) will be also adding to the event-filled week with a comedic commentary of the film Jurassic Park. The comedy team will be a part of the audience, giving their impressions of the 2015 blockbuster; anyone attending shouldn’t expect a ‘quiet’ experience.
The busy week will also conclude the Golden Age gallery exhibition from Artistic Director Barry Keldoulis, Green-eyed Monster Eating It’s Own Tail.
