John Krasinski returns to direct the follow-up to his 2018 box office monster A Quiet Place, although he won’t actually be taking any screen time on this outing. That will be left to his wife Emily Blunt, who is once again on the run from noise-sensitive aliens with her two kids in tow.
The highly anticipated horror, which arrives in cinemas this March, looks to up the intensity from its predecessor in its first official trailer.
Opening with a flashback sequence of what appears to be an origin story for the invasion, the loaded preview has Blunt’s character, Evelyn, roaming a desolate countryside searching for safety with her daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), and son Marcus (Noah Jupe), as well as her newborn son Beau, who is kept in a suitcase to muffle his cries.
The trailer also gives us a first look at the two new major characters joining Blunt, those being Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
