Entries now open for CinéfestOZ 2016

Entries are now open for CinéfestOZ 2016 Film Prize and the prize will be awarded during the August festival held in the Margaret River region of Western Australia.

The $100,000 Film Prize is awarded to an Australian film feature which showcases excellence in film making.

In 2014, the CinéfestOZ 2016 Film Prize was won by Robert Connolly who directed family-friendly film, Paper Planes. The film performed very strongly following its 15 January 2015 release, grossing $9.65 million in the box office.

In 2015, documentary film Putuparri and the Rainmakers, won the prize making its cinematic release in November 2015.

The CinéfestOZ Film Prize is supported by the Western Australian State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions. Rio Tinto is a proud Premium Partner of CinéfestOZ.

Shortlisted films vying for the Prize will premiere at CinéfestOZ Film Festival that this year will be held from the 24 to 28 August.

Film submissions close Friday, 3 June 2016.
