Eric Andre confirms The Eric Andre Show return in 2020 as he readies his “Black Borat movie”

Last night, comedian Eric Andre hit the stage at the Meridian Hall in Toronto as one of the headliners of the annual Just For Laughs comedy festival.

Part of his Legalize Everything Tour, the hilarious hour and a half show was something of a tamer affair than what you might have seen on his popular Adult Swim series, The Eric Andre Show, where he interviews and torments guests in a parody of a Public Access talk show (with fellow comedian Hannibal Buress as his sidekick).

The show was very much a stand up routine, and a fantastic one at that – as he delved into talks about walking in on your parents having sex, politics and, as the name would suggest, drugs. There was also Ranch Dressing, nudity and phone calls to strangers. I won’t say any more than that so as not to spoil it – it’s side-splittingly funny and Andre at his best.

The end of the show also saw Eric confirm to the crowd that Season Five of The Eric Andre Show would be hitting Adult Swim screens in 2020, and that they’re getting ready to release a brand new prank film called Bad Trip, that he called his “Black Borat Movie”.

He screened a trailer for the hidden camera film, and showed a clip where he and Lil Rel Howery get their dicks stuck in a Chinese finger trap. Because of course they did. The film also stars Tiffany Haddish, and is due for release in North America on 28th February 2020 (though interestingly he said April 24th to the Toronto crowd, so we’ll see what happens there).

The show in Toronto was part of a massive world tour that will end in Australia and New Zealand in December, with the following dates already announced:

Wednesday, 4th December- Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Friday, 6th December – Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne
Saturday, 7th December – Astor Theatre, Perth
Wednesday, 11th December – The Tivoli, Brisbane
Friday, 13th December – Sky City, Auckland
