With a new take on the classic characters created by J.M Barrie, the story of action-adventure film, PAN, directed by Joe Wright (Atonement and Pride & Prejudice), is about an orphan who is taken away and brought to the magical and unknown place of Neverland. Here, he begins to find the fun and also dangers that come with living in such a place and ultimately, he finds that his purpose is to become the hero that will be forever known as Peter Pan.
In the trailer, we see Pan’s struggle to fit into his orphanage and it’s clear that he’s unsure of his destiny, due in part to a vague letter left by his mother, stating “I promise that I will see you again, in this world, or another.” Following on, Peter is kidnapped from his dorm and is taken into Neverland. He then become friends with Hook (Garrett Hedlund) and together they conquer the evil mastermind of what is known as Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman).
Honourable mentions of the cast include: Oscar nominee Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as Tiger Lily; Adeel Akhtar (The Dictator) as Smee; and newcomer Levi Miller as Peter.
Rounding out the cast are Taejoo Na (The Kick) as Kwahu; Nonso Anozie (Son of God, Atonement) as Bishop; Kathy Burke (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Mother Barnabas; Kurt Egyiawan (Skyfall) as Murray; Lewis MacDougall (UK TV’s In the Name of the Children) as Nibs; newcomer Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling; Jack Charles (Mystery Road) as The Chief/Tiger Lily’s father; and Amanda Seyfried (Les Misérables) as Mary.
