Get nostalgic with the trailer for The Diary of a Teenage Girl

A clever, coming-of-age story that recounts the adventures of Minnie Goetze (Bel Powley) in 1970’s San Francisco, “this is one for all the girls when they have grown.” The Diary of A Teenage Girl is based on the acclaimed novel by Phoebe Gloeckner and was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival. After Minnie is confronted by her burgeoning sexuality, the precocious teen becomes way in over her head. Minnie confides into her tape recorder all of her trials and painfully honest missives and keeps a chronicle of expressive drawings.

Directed by Marielle Heller and Starring Bel Powley, Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood), Christopher Meloni (Law and Order:SVU) and Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) the film is bound for greatness even at Minnie’s lonely yet artistic expense. Watch the trailer below.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl is released in select cinemas September 24.
