At Friday’s In The House screening of the classic anime film Akira, held at Sydney’s Event Cinemas on George Street, we asked the audience the following question:
And today we bring you the answer!
The reason was quite a simple one: because it was almost entirely set at night. Typically, night settings are a rare find in animation due to the increased demand in colours. But this is just part of what makes Akira such a fantastic film: there’s nothing routine about any aspect of what happens on the screen, and animators went above and beyond to make every frame a unique experience.
The third season of In The House officially kicks off at Event Cinemas on George Street in September, with films like The Goonies, Close Encounters, a Christmas screening of Die Hard and more. For more details head to: http://www.eventcinemas.com.au/Cinema/George-Street/InTheHouseSeason3
