The next generation of Griswolds are at it again. New Line Cinema’s Vacation stars Ed Helms (The Hangover films) and Christina Applegate (the Anchorman films) taking their family on the road for an ill-fated adventure. A grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) decides to follow his fathers footsteps and, desiring some much needed family bonding, surprises wife Debbie (Applegate) and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to Walley World.
The behind the scenes reel which came out last week gives us a glimpse of the disasters they had to endure. Keeping with the values of the original National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983) “the apple does not fall far from the tree”, jokes Helms. The film marks Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley’s directorial debut.
