The Gold Coast Film Festival is set to bring films to life for another year.
Running April 17th to the 28th, the GCFF will showcase amazing films, inspirational panels, outdoor screenings, free-to-attend industry education events, and special events at Home of the Arts (HOTA), as it celebrates its 22nd year.
Kicking off an unforgettable celebration of film on the Gold Coast, this year’s Opening Night will feature the Queensland Premiere of Bill Bennett‘s thoughtful film, The Way, My Way, a charming and captivating true story of a stubborn, self-centred Australian man who decides to walk the 800km long Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route through Spain. He doesn’t know why he’s doing it… but one step at a time, it will change him and his outlook on life forever.
To further celebrate the film, Bill Bennett (who also wrote the book on which the film is based), actress and producer Jennifer Cluff, actor Chris Haywood, and Camino legend Johnnie Walker Santiago will walk the red carpet and participate in a Q&A as part of their national tour with the film, which will also bring them to Mount Victoria (at Mount Vic Flicks on the 16th April), Sydney (at the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace on the 18th April and Roseville Cinemas on the 19th), Hobart (at the State Cinema on the 20th April), Melbourne (at Palace Cinemas Brighton, Cinema Nova and Sun Theatre Yarraville across the 21st and 22nd April), Adelaide (at Palace Nova Cinemas Eastend on the 23rd April), and Perth (at Luna Palace Cinemas on the 24th April).
The Way, My Way is scheduled to open in Australian theatres on May 16th, 2024. Tickets and further information on this year’s Gold Coast Film Festival available on the official website.
