HBO and Google Play bring Game of Thrones: The Exhibition to Sydney in July

After the stunning finale to the incredible fourth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, fans all over the world are hungry for any way to return to Westeros, and now it is possible. To celebrate the release of Season 4 on Google Play, HBO and Google Play are bringing Game of Thrones: The Exhibition to Sydney. The exhibition will run from July1st until July 5th in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, and will be open to the public free of charge.

Season 4 of Game of Thrones has cemented the show as the most popular cable show of all time and the show just keeps getting better and better. Season 4 is now available on Google Play, and the first three seasons are also available. Fans purchasing Season 4 from Google Play will also get over 25 minutes of additional exclusive content.

Below is the press release describing what you can expect to see at the exhibition:

The exhibition, which was specifically created to bring the enchanted world of the show and its characters to the fans, includes interactive installations and a collection of nearly 100 original artefacts taken from show up to and including the most recent Season 4. Among the exhibits:

  • Costumes, props, armour and weapons –created by artisans whose extraordinary craftsmanship has lent authenticity to the show since its inception, the collection includes a magnificent costume display featuring cloaks, dresses and armour; iconic artefacts such as model dragons and eggs; weaponry comprising of crossbows, daggers, spears, hatchets and swords; crowns and headdresses; jewellery; books, letters and maps; House banners; storyboards and much more.
  • Interactive Experience – fans will have an opportunity to participate in a fully immersive, virtual reality experience, powered by Oculus Rift, that will place them on The Wall at the northern frontier of the Seven Kingdoms.
  • Iron Throne – fans will also have an opportunity to have their photo taken on the coveted Iron Throne.
  • All new interactive mobile experience presented by Google Play

This sounds like an incredible chance for fans of Game of Thrones to get up close and personal with the behind the scenes aspects of the show, and is a must for any true fan of HBO’s juggernaut series. It’s going to be a long wait until Season 5 starts next year, and this exhibit will surely help to tide us over until then!
