HBO, FX and Netflix among the big winners at the 2016 Creative Arts Emmys

The winners for the 68th annual Creative Arts Emmys have been announced. The first ever two night awards show, which was held on the 10 – 11th of September, recognises achievements in cinematography, make-up, costume design, casting, and sound.

HBO lead the way on day one, with popular fantasy series Game of Thrones picking up a record breaking nine wins for outstanding casting, make-up and costumes. HBO’s Veep and Girls also won one award each which meant that HBO racked up an amazing eleven wins in total. FX came second place with four awards going to People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, The Americans, Fargo and American Horror Story: Hotel. Amy Poehler had her standout moment on the day winning her first Emmy of seventeen total nominations. Amy Poehler shares the award with co-star Tina Fey who one the award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series. 

On day two Netflix’s stand out series Making a Murderer and Fox’s live musical Grease Live both scored four trophies. A&E came a close third winning three trophies for Cartel Land.
