Here’s your first look at Matt Groening’s new series Disenchantment

Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, is set to launch a new adult animated comedy fantasy series Disenchantment on Netflix. And now we have our first taste of the anticipated series – the legendary animator’s first since Futurama premiered in 1999 – and a confirmation of the series’ launch date: 17th August 2018.

Disenchantment will take viewers to the Dreamland, a crumbling medieval kingdom where they will follow the hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci on their zany adventures. They’re set to encounter a slew of creatures, including ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools. We get our first look at how this world looks in the image at the top of the article.

The series will feature the voices of the hilarious Abbi Jacobson (Broad City) and Princess Bean, Nat Faxon (The Way, Way Back) as Elfo and Eric Andre (The Eric Andre Show) as Luci, alongside  Futurama alumni John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche , Tress MacNeille and David Herman.

Disenchantment is produced by The ULULU Company for Netflix, with Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein (The Simpsons, Futurama) serving as executive producers. Australia’s own Adam Briggs (A.B. Original) is one of the series’ writers.
