The world’s most prestigious festival for international television, Series Mania, is set to make its Australian debut in Melbourne with a joint partnership between ACMI and Film Victoria.
Held annually in Paris, the Melbourne festival will display program highlights from Series Mania Paris 2017, with over 40 free screenings of premiere seasons of some of the best new drama, narrative comedy and web-based series from around the world. Alongside Q&As with key creatives, there will be workshops, panel discussions and masterclasses for the public and industry.

Australian television has been widely recognised at past events, with The Kettering Incident (Foxtel) picking up the Special Jury Prize in 2016, as well as showcasing popular Australian series’ including Cleverman (ABC), The Family Law (SBS), Gallipoli (Nine) and Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (ABC).
The 2017 Series Mania Paris, which runs in April, will also be screening the premiere of Melbourne-made drama Seven Types of Ambiguity starring Hugo Weaving (pictured), Xavier Samuel and Suzie Porter.
Series Mania Melbourne will run from 20 – 24 July at ACMI, Federation Square. Entry is free but tickets are essential.
