Is a second season of Making a Murderer on the way?

Speaking at a panel discussion at New York’s IFC Center on Thursday, Making a Murderer creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos revealed they have spoken to Steven Avery’s new lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, about the prospects of filming and have continued to record their conversations with Avery.

According to Ricciardi, “From our perspective this story is obviously not over”.

“It’s real life and (Avery’s and Brendan Dassey’s) cases are both still pending.”

Avery’s case has made for fascinating and divisive watching so far, it’ll be interesting to see where and what form further installments of Making a Murderer take.

The first season of Making a Murderer is available on Netflix and you can see its creators talk live when they visit Sydney on the 10th of March.
