It’s always someone you know in first Scream trailer

“What’s your favourite scary movie?”

25 years ago it was a question posed to Neve Campbell in Wes Craven’s now genre classic Scream, and come January 2022 a new generation of fresh blood will have their knowledge similarly tested in, well, Scream.

Less a sequel and more a reinvention, Scream will pay homage to Craven’s original film, with Ready Or Not filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett taking on directorial duties and previous screenwriter Kevin Williamson serving as an executive producer.

Campbell and fellow surviving cast members David Arquette, Courteney Cox, and Marley Shelton are once again answering the dreaded Ghostface call, whilst Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jack Quaid, Kyle Gallner, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, Jasmine Savoy Brown, and Mikey Madison appear as the film’s next generation of potential franchise players.

Scream is set for an exclusive theatrical release from January 13th, 2022 from Paramount Pictures.
