It’s Finn-ished: Adventure Time to come to an end in 2018

Prepare to say goodbye to the Land of Ooo and all it’s inhabitants – in case you haven’t heard, sad news has emerged over the weekend that beloved cartoon and pop-culture phenomenon Adventure Time will be coming to an end in the near future.

Cartoon Network announced Adventure Time will air it’s final season in 2018, stating it has “had a resounding impact upon popular culture around the world” and is “proud to have brought together this group of brilliant artists and animators who helped make Adventure Time one of the most critically acclaimed TV series of a generation.”

Since debuting in 2010, Adventure Time captured the hearts of children and adults like (seriously, just ask my fifty-something father how cool he thinks it is), and as well as scoring six Emmy Awards, featured a variety of celebrity guests including Andy Samberg, Matthew Broderick, Laura Silverman, George Takei, Rainn Wilson, and Neil Patrick Harris.

The show will continue to air upcoming specials and mini-series, along with its next two final seasons.

Alas and farewell, Adventure Time. Tumblr won’t be the same without you.
