James McAvoy’s improvised performance centres the trailer for My Son

Filmed in a “revolutionary” manner, the trailer for the new Peacock thriller My Son highlights the improvisation from actor James McAvoy, who during filming wasn’t given a script or any outline of the story at hand.

A remake of the 2017 film Mon Garcon, My Son, co-starring Claire Foy, details the missing persons case of – wouldn’t you know it – his young son.  “I’ve managed to have an experience that no actor gets to have”, says the Golden Globe-nominated actor who will be uncovering the film’s mystery at the same time as the audience watching.

Set for release on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service from September 15th, an Australian date is yet to be announced, but we can only hope it’s a matter of time until it does as this experimental suspenser certainly has our interested piqued.
