Kenny Reunited: Clayton Jacobson talks about his new film Brothers’ Nest with writer Jaime Browne & producer Jason Byrne

Earlier this month at SXSW in Austin, Texas, I saw down with director and star of the new Australian film Brothers’ NestClayton Jacobson. Accompanied by the film’s writer Jaime Browne & producer Jason Byrne, we spoke at length about the anticipated film – which brings the Jacobson brothers (the other half of course being Shane Jacobson) together for the first time in 2006’s Kenny.

We talked about the success Kenny had at SXSW some 12 years ago, and found out how it compared to the screening of Brothers’ Nest the night before. We also talk about the realism of the film, particularly in terms of the very recognisable Jacobson Brothers, embarking on a pretty evil task. Just how much reality is thrown in here, and should we be worried?

The house they filmed in for Brothers’ Nest is as much a character in the film as the Jacobson brothers themselves. We found out how they found the house, and learnt a bit of interesting information about its owner.

Brothers’ Nest premiered at SXSW earlier this month. It’s released in Australian cinemas in May.
