In a recent interview with Empire, film maker Matthew Vaughn has revealed the title for the follow-up to 2015’s Kingsman: Secret Service. Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle is due for release next year.
Plot wise, The Golden Circle sees Kingsman HQ destroyed in an attack. As a result, Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Colin Firth) head to the United States to deal with the American version of the spy organisation – Statesman. That group is led by a swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy named Jack, and Halle Berry’s Ginger character.
The villain is Julianne Moore’s Poppy whose headquarters are a rundown place called Poppyland. The ruins of Kingsman HQ, the Statesman HQ and Poppyland can be glimpsed in new concept art.
Kingsman: Secret Service was a critical and financial success upon release, earning $414 million worldwide.
The film is currently targeting a June 10th 2017 release.
