It’s only been a couple of days since Brisbane and Adelaide got turned upside down with Millie Bobby Brown and Stan Lee making waves for the Supanova Comic Con And Gaming events, but they’ve gone and dropped a huge guest announcement for their April 2018 tour.
None other than the 12th (or 13th depending on where you stand) Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, will be coming to Australia as the first major headline guest for the pop culture convention event. Capaldi is best known for two beloved television characters, the first being The Doctor of Doctor Who, and the second Malcolm Tucker of The Thick Of It. His success also goes behind the camera, having won an Academy Award and BAFTA for his short film Franz Kafka’s It’s A Wonderful Life.
Whovians can rejoice at the excellent news and take it as an opportunity to bid a fond farewell to Capaldi’s Doctor as he rematerialises for the Christmas special titled “Twice Upon A Time” this year, to be regenerated into the new Doctor, Jodie Whittaker who was announced as the replacement in July.
The pop culture and gaming event will be held across two separate weekends.
Melbourne – 20th – 22nd April 2018 – Melbourne Showgrounds
Gold Coast – 27th – 29th April 2018 – Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre
As it’s only November and this event will be held in April next year, there will of course be plenty more guest announcements to come.
