“Is it too late to change the name”, Paul Rudd asks in our first official look at Marvel’s hotly anticipated Ant-Man. With the trailer being released earlier today we begin to witness Marvel and Walt Disney’s marketing campaign for the long-overdue transposition of Marvel’s classic superhero to the big screen.
Ant-Man continues the sometimes trend of taking actors mostly known for comedy and placing them in the hot seat, turning them into superheroes. It’s been met with varying results before, but we all know that Paul Rudd is an exceptional actor, and as far as we can see from the trailer, brings the right chemistry to Ant-Man as director Peyton Reed brings his effervescent style to the classic tale.
The trailer is as witty as you’d expect, giving us glimpses of some fairly gigantic sequences and visually impressive mayhem. The film co-stars Michael Douglas, Lost’s Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, and Judy Greer.
Ant-Man is released on July 17th 2015
