The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) is partnering with two of Australia’s premier TV drama houses; Matchbox Pictures (Deadline Gallipoli, Glitch, Wanted) and Screentime (The Secret Daughter, Wolf Creek TV Show), in order to further push their endeavours into series production.
As a result, both companies will open offices across Adelaide within the next two years in order to increase production within to the state while also developing local writing and directing talent for its planned productions. The SAFC is now inviting South Australian producers and production companies to apply for this opportunity, in which the SAFC will provide $250,000 over a period of two years to allow for overheads, travel and general development funding.
This opportunity will allow South Australian producers to uniquely access development of their projects through support and enhanced access to high-end collaborators. The initiative can put writers into key TV writing rooms while directors will have even greater opportunities for directing.
In addition, a separate TV development grant for various writers and producers will be launched in the coming week, and support an SA producer and/or writer by giving them an chance to develop high-end television drama. Up to $40,000 will also be provided for up to 2 television drama series with the funds to be used for various the development stages.
