Microsoft has announced the release of their highly anticipated Surface Studio, as well as their Windows 10 Creators Update, which will roll out on 12th April across Australia and New Zealand.
The Surface Studio devices are designed to provide new, more flexible ways of creating, and will be coming to Australian and New Zealand markets for the first time. The devices will be on display at the flagship Microsoft Store in Sydney for hands-on previews from today.
The Windows 10 Creators Update will be free for all users, with a planned rollout to over 400 million devices. The update provides tools for unleashing creativity, bringing 3D and mixed reality to everyone, as well as allowing easier access to broadcasting tools for budding streamers.
The new 3D Paint app will allow for the creation, experimentation and sharing of various 3D artworks, allowing for greater accessibility of creation tools for Windows users. The Remix3D.com community also allows instant access to a growing library of 3D objects to customize, edit and share with other users.
The Windows 10 Creators Update will enable immersive experiences that blur the lines between the physical and virtual worlds with the update being compatible with VR headsets from HP, Dell, Lenovo, ASUS and Acer. These new headsets will contain built-in sensors to enable greater freedom with the devices, and with new Windows Mixed Reality apps and experiences, millions of users will now be able to create and consume all new forms of media and experiences.
The update will also include tighter security enhancements, and a more consistent and enjoyable gaming experience with Windows 10 Game Mode and Beam, which allows easier streaming of gameplay. Beam will allow for viewers to influence streamed gameplay and interact with the stream while it’s taking place, allowing for brand new interactions. Game Mode will also allow for your PC to dedicate more graphics and processing power to your games, providing more sustainable framerates and sharper graphics. Also included is Microsoft Edge, which allows for faster and safer browsing and entertainment.
Surface Studio devices are a brand new way to create, and can be used as both a desktop and laptop, with the ability to use it upright, or draw on it like a drafting table. Surface Studio has an adjustable 28” PixelSense™ display with 1024 levels of Pen sensitivity that allows for striking visuals and intense precision. The device houses a NVIDIA® GeForce® dGPU graphics card, allowing for seamless and powerful creation.
The Surface Studio is now available for pre-order from Microsoft Store, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, and will be available for purchase from April 27th. Prices start from $4,599AUD dependent on specifications and storage needs.
