The Iris brings you the trailer for Godzilla, which was released internationally today. The film is set to release in cinemas across Australia on the 15th of May, 2014.
The film is Hollywood’s second attempt at a rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this time from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures and directed by Gareth Edwards. The film “pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence”. I think that’s a plot line we saw coming… but what else would you want? Bring it on.
The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai, Inception), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Oscar winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Cosmopolis) and Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), with Oscar nominee David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck., The Bourne Legacy) and Bryan Cranston (Argo, TV’s Breaking Bad).
With a cast like that, we have our hopes set much higher than the last time Godzilla hit American screens.
