To say that “the stakes are high” would be a gross understatement when being confronted with the new trailer for the third (and assumed final) series of House of Cards, which was released today.
We’re so used to seeing Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) as a manipulative, cunning and at times, evil politician desperately trying to climb his way to the top. In the first two seasons, he endures. However, could this be the season where Frank finally topples off the top of the pyramid?
We are also offered an insight into – what seems to be – Claire (Robin Wright) as she succumbs into a catastrophic build up of her haunted consciousness, stating to Frank that “we are murderers”, to which he callously replies, “we are survivors.” Those who saw Spacey win the Globe yesterday may also be reminded that he promised the award was “only the beginning of my revenge…”
What awaits us this season is unknown – however we’re damn sure that it includes the brutal high stakes that we all fell in love with in the first two seasons. Get ready to watch the entire season in a night when it releases over on Netflix on February 27 (US Time).
