As was revealed today by Digital Spy, Mark Ruffalo has said Marvel is “entertaining” the idea of making a new Hulk film following the success of The Avengers series and spin-offs.
This would be brave of Marvel after two previous attempts to devote an entire film to the big green man-monster that were commercially underwhelming. Although we saw the Hulk played by Eric Bana in 2003 and by Edward Norton in 2008, it was Mark Ruffalo in 2012’s The Avengers that got everyone excited.
According to the actor though, this is very early days with the studio not even decided on a “skeletal version of what it would be.” Considering he held his own onscreen in the actor-fest that was the The Avengers, a Hulk film carried by the talent of Mark Ruffalo would be well-worth the wait, and we know we have The Avengers 2 to look forward to in the meantime.
