Yesterday, Palace Cinemas announced that they will be opening a new ten-screen cinema in Sydney’s Double Bay, which will increase their number of cinemas in NSW to five by the time it opens.

The boutique company also confirmed plans to renovate their existing NSW cinemas, Palace Verona and Palace Byron Bay. For the Verona, the existing seats will be more turned more “luxurious” by December 2016 and by Easter 2017, a new auditorium will open. There are plans to increase their total to eight by December 2017. Palace Byron Bay, meanwhile, will reopen as a sustainable, nine-screen complex in 2018. Byron Bay is currently closed, though Palace Verona in Sydney remains open for business.

Benjamin Zeccola, Palace Cinemas’ CEO says, “We’re thrilled to be bringing a state-of-the-art cinema to Double Bay and doing our part to help revitalise the local arts scene in this fantastic Sydney suburb.  As is our standard, the cinemas will offer our customers the broadest choice of quality mainstream films and international film festivals in luxurious, stylish and sustainably built places.”

The timetable for opening the new Double Bay location will be announced as soon as plans are finalised.
