After re-energising the Scream franchise earlier this year with the fifth installment, Scream, requel rules were very much in effect as the legacy characters of the series – Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, David Arquette’s Dewey Riley and Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers – passed the torch to a new generation of intended victims.
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City, where a new Ghostface emerges to finish what’s been started. In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere and Courteney Cox return to their roles in the franchise, alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.
