Screenings for documentary Sherpa announced to raise funds for Australian Himalayan Foundation and Intrepid’s Namaste Nepal Appeal

Award-winning documentary film, Sherpa, will be screening across the country on two nights in February to raise funds for the Australian Himalayan Foundation (AHF) and Intrepid’s Namaste Nepal Appeal.

Sherpa is directed by acclaimed high altitude filmmaker and climber Jen Peedom. The film documents the tragic event that took place in April of 2014 where 16 Sherpas were killed by a 14 million ton block of ice that crashed onto the climbing route through the Khumbu Icefall.

Preview screenings will take place on Sunday, 21st of February and Wednesday 24th of February.

Motivated by last year’s devastating earthquake, Kathmandu and Intrepid Travel have partnered to screen the film with all funds going to help rebuild the country’s economy, infrastructure and tourism industry.

Tickets for the screenings are available from the Kathmandu website.
