South By Southwest (SXSW) have finally announced their film lineup for 2015 – something that all cinephiles have been awaiting anxiously. The festival – which is held in Austin, Texas from March 13 – 21 – is to show 145 features from emerging directors, master filmmakers, and unknown auteurs of our present day.

“SXSW is always fascinated by films that take a familiar trope and somehow, against all odds, make it fresh and exhilarating – works that spin tantalizing webs out of what seems like thin air,” said Janet Pierson, Head of SXSW Film.

Highlights of this year include Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck; Alex Gibney’s eagerly anticipated documentary, Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine; Melissa McCarthy’s Spy; George Miller’s 1981 Road Warrior with a Q&A following the screening; and Get Hard, starring comedy geniuses Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.

Stay tuned – The Midnighter Features and the Short Film Program are to be announced next week! Better start sorting your flights to The States now. Look out for a special article on our sister site AU Abroad about how to get there…

SXSW runs from March 13-21 in Austin, Texas.
